We should post this on days that Ianto is gone, so no one suffers death by Jack-with-no-coffee.

| Day 7: A Photo that makes you smile |

I always loved going out to the local schools for talks about the police (career day and that sort of thing).
This picture was taken at the last one I attended and the little girl was just adorable!

| Day Six: Favourite Childhood Memory |
[22 Apr 2010|03:15pm] |
When I was eight, my dad declared that he was taking me fishing. I had no interest in going and it sounded boring. I got packed into the car at way-too-early-o'clock in the morning and off we went. I had to wear this god awful orange life vest that itched and smelled of old fish. It was cold, I was cranky, and I couldn't for the life of me get the worm onto my hook without poking myself.
After two hours of this, it started raining. So now I was soaking wet, miserable, and nearly in tears. Dad ended up rowing us back in and we took cover under a picnic pavillion. We shared a thermos of hot cocoa, had some sandwiches, and just talked.
My dad never talked to me when I was little and we rarely spent time together. I always figured it was because he was really into sports and I was terrible at them... I thought I was a disappointment and he had no time for me.
What I didn't know was that he was working two jobs to support my mum and I. I thought he didn't like me and knew nothing about me. But it turned out he loved me so much that he was working nearly 16 hours a day sometimes so I'd have a better life than he did. And he knew EVERYTHING that I was doing. Even if he couldn't be there, he was getting full reports from mum and then telling all his friends about his boy and how proud he was of me.
So after we talked, I decided to give this fishing thing another go. We ended up spending the rest of the day out there. We barely caught anything, but it didn't matter. For the first time in my life, I'd spent nearly an entire day alone, just me and my dad. And it was brilliant.

| Day 4 - Your Favourite Book |
[20 Apr 2010|12:31pm] |

I always loved reading this book as a kid, and now I can really empathize with poor Arthur! Aliens, insanity, and Arthur's just a normal human who gets caught up in it all.
And Marvin... a depressed, paranoid android. Hahaha! I loved him!
